Several months after Facebook started testing promoted status messages, the social networking website on Friday said it will start “a small experiment” around paid messages.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the website said that it is making several changes to efficiently deliver messages that Facebook users get. As part of the new measures, it is rolling out an experimental feature that will allow a Facebook user to send a priority message to other user even if he is not a ‘friend’ at a nominal charge of $1. The current rate for the message is not final and Facebook may change it in future.
Ankit Fadia’s website hacked again with DNS hack
Ankit Fadia is known as one of India’s first ‘ethical hackers’. He has been recognised by a number of software companies, and has written many books about computer and internet security. Now, in a twist of fate, his website has been hacked and defaced yet again. The hackers have left a message for Fadia on his website.
According to the hackers, they have done nothing illegal and have just responded to the challenge that Ankit Fadia had put forth. Fadia had earlier challenged anyone to hack his website. Fadia’s challenge is in this video and is issued at the 1:91 mark. A close look at the website DNS records found that they had changed the DNS of the domain to URL by gaining the access to the hosting account password.
This is not the first time that Ankit Fadia’s website has been hacked. In January this year, his official website got hit by a hacker group that identified itself as Team Grey Hat. The hackers seem to have got access to the files on his server. A pastebin dump had been setup that shows screenshots of the files.

An association of private telecommunication employees has given a call for a strike from the midnight of Tuesday, September 11. Hence all private mobile and Internet services could go off. Only the BSNL service will be in operation.
The president of the body, Udayakumar, speaking in Hubli on Monday, Sep 10, said that the association’s demand that the half-roll employees be given ESI and EPF facilities had not been met. In many cases, salaries had been withheld. To press these demands, an indefinite strike call has been given.
He said that the private telecom towers would not be deactivated by the staff. But the fuel supply to numerous microwave towers in the 25 districts of the state would be affected. As a result, the towers may stop functioning and the networks could go off. Most private subscribers would be inconvenienced, he also said.
